About Danville, OH - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Danville is a village located in Knox County, Ohio. As of 2010, just over 1,000 residents called the community home, and its motto is “Gateway to Amish Country.” Modern Danville was created in 1923 after two neighboring villages merged – Buckeye City and Rosstown. Danville High School is operated by the Danville Local School District, and a branch of the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County is also found here.
Visitors in search of small town atmosphere with plenty of places to eat and shop will love a trip to Danville. Restaurants include Hangout, McFadden’s Hot Spot Pizza, Scoreboard Drive-In, and The Bender Pub & Grill. Specialty shops are plentiful here, such as The Blonde Robin, This & That, and Danville Outdoors. Runners, walkers, and bikers will enjoy the scenery of the Kokosing Gap Trail, which runs from Danville to Mt. Vernon. Camping is also popular in the community at Camp McPherson, which offers RV camping on 158 acres of outdoor space.
Varied weather conditions with four distinct seasons is another reason that life in Danville is so unique. Skiing, snowshoeing, and ice skating are popular here during the winter months when temperatures cool down substantially. The area receives an average of about 48 inches of snowfall each season, but icy conditions are also possible. The right gas or electric furnace will keep indoor conditions comfortable, preventing pipes and plumbing systems from freeze-related damage.
Summers in Danville are hot and humid, and temperatures can easily exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit. July is the warmest month of the year, and average daily highs reach about 82 degrees Fahrenheit. At the peak of the season, residents rely heavily on their central air conditioning systems, and these units will drastically improve comfort levels overnight. ENERGY STAR systems will also help residents to save on their monthly utility costs.
